Description |
This description is quoted from the individual who gave the copies to Margaret Koch. "Mrs. Steele thinks the lighthouse and keepers' house were built soon after the end of the Civil War, probably early 70s. This is from a stereopticon view by the famous photographer Muybridge. The house was destroyed in the 1950s. 'The younger keepers wife wanted a little bungalow. They offered it to me to move to my property, but I couldn't take the responsibility for it... I had too many other things to worry about then. So they pushed it over the cliff. It was really a beautiful house, with mahogany stairs and marble fireplace.". |
